Change Exchange
Change is inevitable. Change is also powerful. By means of change, failure can be a prosperous learning experience. It is often understood that there is likely to be concerns, and in some instances perhaps even a bit of reluctance to embrace new ideologies, policies and procedures. During this “Change Exchange” experience, participants will present a challenging situation to a colleague and then together quickly brainstorm solutions to some of the more common struggles associated with the concept of “change.”

Lunch

1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Cultural Change Resistance:  Moving toward Buy-In
The factors that compel an organization to change its culture may be understood, agreed upon and assumed to be unhindered in its implementation. The resistance to this kind of change is, often times, realized in under-the-surface behavior that is, intentionally, designed to slow the change and maintain the status quo. Library leaders are responsible for moving the staff beyond the barriers of resistance. This presentation will focus on the tools and skills leaders use to break through the barriers and position the organization to embrace the change of their future.
