Conference Policies

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations for MLA in-person and hybrid events (including the annual conference, if virtual) must be received in writing by e-mail no later than ten (10) business days prior to the program in order to qualify for a refund. Within ten (10) business days of the event, no refund will be issued. Registrations received within ten (10) days of the program are not eligible for a refund. No-shows will be invoiced.

A $35.00 processing fee will be applied to refunds for workshops and conferences.

If an MLA professional development workshop, conference, webinar, or other training session is cancelled due to low registration or inclement weather, participants will be notified and fees, if applicable, will be refunded.

COVID-19 Policy

We ask you to be courteous and conscientious of others while meeting in-person at the event, especially when it comes to health and safety. All attendees, exhibitors, partners and staff will be required to show either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR or Rapid test result within 72 hours of the first day of an event and it is recommended attendees wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status. You will be asked to provide a vaccine card or proof of negative test result at the registration desk. This policy is meant to maximize protection from all variants. Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, attendance requirements may change prior to the event. If any government orders or safety concerns restrict us from gathering, we will reassess the event dates and reimbursements at that time. If you test positive for COVID-19 ahead of the event, you are expected to alert MLA staff in advance at 517-394-2774 and may receive a refund.  Extenuating circumstances due to COVID-19 will be taken into consideration when determining refunds.

*Please refer to the CDC website for what defines full vaccination: cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html

Consent Policy

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, MLA meetings or other activities constitutes an agreement for the use and distribution of the attendee's image in photographs or videos of the event. Attendee names may be shared with fellow attendees by inclusion in an event directory.
