MLA Connect Coffee Hour: Reopening Communications StrategiesThursday, June 11, 2020 This week, join MLA for a discussion about communicating your library's reopening plans effectively to your patrons and community. How do you tell your story? How do you prepare your patrons for a reopened library with new safety protocols in place? MLA has encouraged “over-communicating” during this time. Learn from some exemplary communications directors about best practices and ideas. Special guests include Trenton Smiley, Director of Marketing and Communications, Capital Area District Libraries, and Victoria Meadows, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), who previously served as Library Communications Manager for Lansing Community College. Each week we provide a platform for you to ask questions, share ideas, and provide input to other library professionals struggling with the global health crisis, remote work, and how to prepare for the future. This coffee hour is free to attend to anyone interested in joining the conversation! A maximum of 500 attendees can join the live event. Registered attendees will receive information and a link to access the meeting on the Zoom platform. A recording of the session will be available on the MLA website for those unable to attend the live event.
