MLA 2019 Annual Conference Call for Volunteers

Volunteering at MLA Annual Conference is the perfect opportunity to network with a diverse group of library professionals and a great way to build new skills.

If you are planning to join us in Novi this October, please consider donating an hour or two of your time to help ensure a great conference experience for all. No experience is necessary and onsite instruction will be provided. The commitment is minimal and the impact you can make on the conference success is immeasurable!

MLA 2019 offers several opportunities to volunteer. Every volunteer is important to the success of the conference. Opportunities include:

Room Moderators: Help our program presenters in their session room by introducing them, giving time cues and collecting session data. (This position is typically filled by conference work group members.) Be responsible for MLA Code of Conduct policies. Code of Conduct | Michigan Library Association

Registration Attendant: Be the face of MLA and assist attendees with conference registration and general conference questions.

Door Attendant: Assist with ticket taking before lunch service.

Exhibitor Assistant: Helps with exhibitor check-in and general questions.

Digital Content Volunteers: Be an MLAgent and produce tweets and social media posts as you have your finger on the pulse of the conference.

Technology Volunteers: Help troubleshoot technology with our breakout program presenters.
