Social Media Strategist Intern
Term: Semester (September – December or January – April) Title: Social Media Strategist Intern Supervisor: MLA Membership and Communications Director Work Schedule: 10 hours per week, flexible hours based on class schedule, 120 hours total Compensation: $1,500 per semester, internship credit
What does a social media strategist do?
- Work on social media projects like content development, photos, graphics, analytics and engagement
- Learn and refine how to use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogging and more for promoting libraries
- Work on promotional, writing and research projects
Here's what we are looking for:
- A current college student
- A stellar writer with imagination and a creative flair
- Someone who can adopt MLA’s brand voice and personality and translate it to digital content
- Someone who’s organized and detail oriented
- Someone who’s independent and accountable
- Someone who is willing to work remotely and commit to at least 10 hours a week during either the Fall, Spring or Summer semester.

Program and Event Intern
Term: Semester (September – December or January – April) Title: Program and Event Intern Supervisor: MLA Program and Event Director Work Schedule: 10 hours per week, flexible hours based on class schedule, 120 hours total Compensation: $1,500 per semester, Internship credit, lodging at MLA conference
What does a program and event intern do?
- Assist in conference coordination, registration
- Assist with onsite volunteer management
- Sponsor, exhibitor, and advertiser support
- Assist in future conference and event RFP process
- Assist in creation of speaker and attendee instructions
- Data entry and database management
- Internship report or project
Here's what we are looking for:
- A current college student
- Someone who’s organized and detail oriented
- Someone who’s independent and accountable
- Someone who is willing to work remotely and commit to at least 10 hours a week during either the Fall or Spring semester
