Call for Cool Things My Library Does Proposals
Submissions welcome through Monday, January 13, 2020
Cool Things My Library Does will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Do you have a great project you’ve implemented at your library, but don’t think the information would fill a whole breakout session time slot?
Would you like to share your unique programming ideas with your peers?
Have you or your library done something so great, you must share it with the world?
Does your library do something no one else does?
Please consider submitting a proposal for Cool Things My Library Does. This quick and engaging presentation session will give you an opportunity to showcase your brilliance in a comfortable group discussion and reception format. Think of it like a strolling poster session or show-and-tell with props. Topic examples might be unique collections, outreach programs, engaging services or distinctive displays.
Agreements and Selection Notification
- MLA will contact the submitter and any additional presenters regarding final decisions on or before January 24, 2020.
- MLA will send all presenters a Presenter Agreement outlining their poster presentation details. This will be confirmed by the presenter and returned to MLA.
Submission General Guidelines
- Communications by MLA will be to all members who are a part of your submission. Contact information is required for each presenter.
- Presenters are not reimbursed or compensated for session time, mileage, or any other such item.
- Presenters must register to attend Spring Institute if they intend to stay beyond the Cool Things reception.
Poster Setup
- All poster presenters will be provided with a 6’ table
- Upon request, MLA will provide one 36” by 48” tri-fold presentation board at time of registration. Poster presenters will be responsible for bringing all items to adhere to the board as well as assembling the board.
- Internet access may be available but is not guaranteed.
Spring Institute 2020 Timeline
November 8, 2019 – Final day to submit program proposals
November 22, 2019 – Program selection notifications and agreements emailed from MLA to program presenters
December 16, 2019 – Presenter agreements signed and returned to MLA
January 13, 2020 – Final day to submit Cool Things My Library Does poster proposals
January 24, 2020 – Selection notifications and agreements emailed from MLA to program presenters
March 6, 2020 – Handouts received for posting on MLA website
March 19 – 20, 2020 – Spring Institute Conference at Sheraton Hotel, Ann Arbor
