Creating quality job descriptions is arguably one of the toughest aspects of HR and recruiting because you ca nnot adequately interview and hire candidates, create an equitable offer, o r assess employee performance without a valid and reliable description. Lea rn tried and true techniques to get better visibility with potential candid ates and legal considerations to drafting job descriptions from the America n Society of Employers.

Kev in Marrs serves as Vice President at ASE. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing ASE’s compensation and benefits survey department. ASE cond ucts a variety of local and national benchmark surveys, providing data to t housands of organizations in Michigan. For more than 15 years, Kevin Marrs has conducted research and analysis on the total rewards practices and tren ds of area employers. Kevin is also responsible for conducting employee sur veys for ASE member organizations.
Kevin conducts several ASE traini ng programs including Wage and Salary Administration Overview, Conducting J ob Analysis and Writing Job Descriptions, and Market Pricing for Results. K evin holds a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from Central Wash ington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy.

These expectations apply to all MLA activities including those held in conjunction with MLA c onferences, events and meetings, as well as online venues and social media.
Cancellations for MLA online and virtual events must be received in writing by e-mail no later than five (5) business days prior to the program in order to qualify for a refund. Within five (5) bus iness days of the event, no refund will be issued. Registrations received w ithin five (5) days of the program are not eligible for a refund. No-shows will be invoiced. A $10.00 processing fee will be applied to refunds for ML A Connect webinars.
